Brian Lara back as Windies captain
April 01, 2003 00:24 IST
Brian Lara was re-appointed captain of the West Indies cricket team for the forthcoming home series against Australia, the BBC reported on Monday. The star batsman, who landed the job again more than three years after he gave it up, replaces Carl Hooper for the four Tests and seven one-day internationals against the recently crowned World Cup champions. Ramnaresh Sarwan would be his deputy. Bennett King, the head of the Australian Cricket Academy, will replace Roger Harper as the coach.
