India get extra practice match in Australia

July 14, 2003 20:16 IST

The Indian cricket team will play an additional tour match as part of its Australian itinerary later this year.

India will take on Queensland XI in a three-day match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane (November 29-December 1), a  statement from Cricket Australia said.

The scheduling of an extra fixture results in two changes to the tour programme in matches featuring India against  Victoria and a Prime Minister's XI.

The three-day match between India and Victoria, originally scheduled to start on November 27 in Melbourne, will now start two days earlier on November 25.

The limited-over game against a Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra, originally scheduled for December 1, will now be played on January 28, 2004.

India's other tour match, a three-day clash against Australia 'A' in Hobart (December 19-21), remains unchanged.
