District court reimposes suspension on Kale

The Pune district and sessions court today stayed a lower court order restraining the Board of Control for Cricket in India from suspending Maharashtra middle-order batsman Abhijeet Kale.

The court reimposed the suspension on Kale after the board filed an appeal challenging the Pune city civil court's order, which had allowed Kale to participate in first-class cricket tournaments.

The lower court had yesterday restrained the BCCI from suspending Kale without holding an inquiry into the bribery allegations against him.
