Gambhir to lead India

Delhi opener Gautam Gambhir will lead India in the Emerging Team Trophy one-day cricket tournament, for 'A' teams, to be played in Sri Lanka from September 27 to October 5.

Mumbai's opening batsman Vinayak Mane and pace bowler Aavishkar Salvi, along with Tamil Nadu fast bowler L Balaji and Baroda speedster Irfan Pathan, are in the team picked by the selection committee, headed by Sunil Gavaskar, a Board of Control for Cricket in India statement said on Wednesday.

Hosts Sri Lanka and Pakistan are the other two teams in the fray.

The team: Gautam Gambhir (capt), Vinayak Mane, Aavishkar Salvi, M Bisla, A T Rayudu, Arjun Yadav, Deepak Chougule, Stuart Binny, L Balaji, Dinesh Kartik (wicketkeeper) and Vidyut Sivaramakrishna, Irfan Pathan of Baroda, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Sanjay Lahiri.

Sept 27: Sri Lanka vs India
Sept 28: India vs Pakistan
Sept 29: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka
Sept 30: Rest day
Oct 1: Sri Lanka vs India
Oct 2: Sri Lanka vs Pakistan
Oct 3: Pakistan vs India
Oct 4: Rest day
Oct 5: Final.
