Nimbus Communications has denied it is in the process of signing a contract with Sourav Ganguly, whose image marketing contract with Percept D'Mark ends on September 22.

Harish Thawani, chairman and managing director, Nimbus, told rediff.com that the company's marketing arm World Sports Group did not have any plans for player management.

"Some players are interested in striking a deal with us but we are not too keen on the player management business right now. There is way too much of hand-holding involved for too little. It is not a huge market for us," he said.

Thawani said the report may have emanated after people saw him lunch with Ganguly in Bangalore during the Challenger Series.

"I met Ganguly in Bangalore because he wanted me to give him some inputs for his new television show on ESPN-Star Sports," he said, adding that the Indian skipper and her were friends and met occasionally.

Ganguly could not be contacted for comment.
