- A century and Sachin Tendulkar will achieve the unique feat of scoring century against all other 9 Test playing countries in both form of cricket -- Test and ODI.
- Sourav Ganguly needs 103 runs to complete 5,000 runs as captain. By doing so he will become the second Indian after Mohammad Azharuddin and only the third player in One-Day International history to do so.
- Ganguly needs 130 runs to complete 1,000 runs in the year 2004. He will then equal Sachin Tendulkar's world record of aggregating 1,000 runs in six calendar years.
- Habibul Bashar needs 42 runs to complete 1,000 career runs. He will become the second Bangladeshi batsman after Khaled Mashud to do so.
- Rahul Dravid needs 88 runs to complete 1,000 runs in the year 2004
- Ganguly needs 163 runs to complete 10,000 runs in ODIs
- Ajit Agarkar needs 3 wickets to complete 200 wickets in his career
- Irfan Pathan needs 4 wickets to complete 50 wickets in his career and also in the year 2004.
- Tapash Baisya needs 6 wickets to complete 50 wickets
- Ganguly needs 7 wickets to complete 100 wickets
- Mohammad Rafique needs one catch to become leading fielder for Bangladesh in the shorter version of the game.
- Dravid needs 2 catches to complete 150 catches
- Ganguly needs 8 catches to complete 100 catches
