- India's total of 348 for 5 in the third one-day international at Dhaka on Monday is the highest total ever made by any side against Bangladesh bettering Kenya's 347-3 at Nairobi on 10-10-1997. Incidentally, India's previous highest against Bangladesh was 276 (all out) at Dhaka on 11-04-2003.

- The above total is also the highest ever total in Bangladesh beating Zimbabwe's 325 for six against Kenya in a Meril International Cup match on 27-03-1999.

- Bangladesh's 257-9 is their highest total against India, bettering 249-6 at Dhaka on 30-05-2000.

- The opening wicket partnership of 106 runs between Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar is India's best for this wicket against Bangladesh in Bangladesh, bettering the 85 between Sourav Ganguly and Tendulkar at Dhaka on 30-05-2000. Overall, it was only the second century partnership for the opening wicket for India against Bangladesh --  home or away -- after the 121 run-partnership between W V Raman and Navjot Sidhu at Chandigarh on 25-12-1990.

- Rahul Dravid (60) completed his 1,000 runs in 2004 when his score reached 35 -- and became the first Indian to do so. At the end of this innings, Dravid's aggregate in 2004 stands at 1,025 runs from 31 matches -- highest for any batsman in the calendar year.

- Incidentally, it is the second time Dravid was aggregating 1,000 runs in a calendar year. Dravid had aggregated 1,761 runs at an average of 46.34 in 43 matches in 1999.

- Yuvraj Singh took only 22 balls to complete his fifty during his innings of 69 (off 32 balls). This is the second joint fastest fifty by an Indian batsman.

- The fifth wicket partnership of 93 between Yuvraj and Mohammad Kaif is India's best for this wicket against Bangladesh obliterating the 78-run partnership between Ajay Jadeja and Robin Singh at Mohali on 14-05-1998.

- Four Indians -- Sehwag (70), Sourav Ganguly (55), Dravid (60) and Yuvraj (69) scored fifties with a fifth (Tendulkar - 47) narrowly missing the half-century mark. Had Tendulkar also completed his half-century, this would have provided first instance in the history of one-day international of five batsmen from a side scoring half-centuries in the same innings. The record of four batsmen scoring fifties in the same innings has now been made on 13 occasions in ODIs. This was the second such instance for India. The only other was against Australia at Madras (now Chennai) during the 1987 World Cup when Sunil Gavaskar (61), Navjot Sidhu (51), Dilip Vengsarkar (63) and Mohammad Azharuddin (54 not out) scored half-centuries.

- Khaled Mahmud's figures of 3 for 62 are the best for Bangladesh against India bettering Tapash Baisya's 3 for 65 at Dhaka on 11-04-2003.

- Rajin Saleh's innings of 82 (off 114 balls) is the highest for Bangladesh against India beating Aminul Islam's 70 (off 128 balls) at Mohali on 14-05-1998.

- Mahendra Singh Dhoni (3 catches + 2 stumpings) became the sixth Indian wicket-keeper (on the eighth occasion) to effect five dismissals in an innings joining Syed Kirmani, Sadanand Viswanath, Kiran More, Nayan Mongia (three times) and M S K Prasad. Dhoni, however, is the first to do so against Bangladesh. The previous record of most dismissals by an Indian wicket-keeper against Bangladesh was three dismissals held by Saba Karim and Parthiv Patel.

- Dhoni became the third wicket-keeper to effect five dismissals in a match against Bangladesh after West Indian Ridley Jacobs and South African Mark Boucher. Interestingly, all these performances have come on this ground.

- Sachin Tendulkar (47 runs and 4 for 54) performed the all-round feat of scoring 40 runs and claiming 4 wickets in the same match for the second time in his career. Tendulkar had first achieved this feat against Australia at Dhaka on 28-10-1998 when he followed his 141 with 4 for 38.

- The 48-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Mashrafe Mortaza and Mushfiqur Rahman is Bangladesh's best against India. The pair obliterated the 44-run partnership between Hasibul Hussain and Khaled Mashud at Mumbai on 25-05-1998.

- Virender Sehwag received his 12th man of the Match award, while Mohammad Kaif received his first Man of the Series award.
