TDP loses Coastal AP bastion

The leads in the three regions of Andhra Pradesh at 1030:

Andhra Pradesh: Information on 294 out of 294 seats so far:

Congress+allies: 194, a gain of 93 seats.

Telugu Desam Party+allies: 62, a loss of 118 seats.

Others: 38, a gain of 27 seats.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh

Coastal Andhra Pradesh, a bastion of the Telugu Desam Party in every election, may deliver a stunning defeat on the party in this assembly election.

According to the latest leads at 1030 am, and the information available on 131 out of the 133 seats in Coastal Andhra Pradesh:

The Congress is leading in 91, a gain of 65.

The Telugu Desam Party is leading in 32, a loss of 69.

The Left is leading in 3, a gain of 3.

Others are leading in 5, a gain of 1.

Telangana

The Telengana region in Andhra Pradesh, where the Congress is in alliance with the Telengana Rashtra Samiti, is way ahead of the Telugu Desam Party in this assembly election.

According to the latest leads at 1030 am, and the information available on 104 out of the 105 seats in Telengana:

The Congress-TRS alliance is ahead in 66 seats, a gain of 24 seats.

The TDP is ahead in 15 seats, a loss of 40 seats.

The Left is ahead in 9, a gain of 7 seats.

Others like the MIM are ahead in 14, a gain of 9 seats.

The Rayalseema region in Andhra Pradesh, where state Congress president Y S Rajashekhara Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu both come from, has provided the only solace for the Telugu Desam Party in this assembly election.

According to the latest leads at 1030 am, and the information available on all the 56 seats in Rayalseema:

The Congress is ahead in 32 seats, a gain of 10 seats.

The TDP is ahead in 18 seats, a loss of 16 seats.

The Left is ahead in 1, a gain of 1 seats.

Others are ahead in 5, a gain of 5 seats.

The TDP may lose 67% of the seats in Coastal Andhra, 50% of the seats in Rayalseema and 62% of the seats in Telengana.
