Manmohan may meet Prez at 1900 IST

The Congress Parliamentary Party is likely to elect Manmohan Singh its leader at a meeting in the Central Hall of Parliament at 1700 IST.

Singh, most likely accompanied by party president Sonia Gandhi and some other senior leaders, will meet President A P J Abdul Kalam at 1900 IST and stake claim to form the next government.

The Congress leaders will carry letters from all their allies to the meeting with the President.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place on Thursday, though no time has yet been decided for the same.
