June 17, 2003 18:46 IST

Reliance Infocomm has introduced two interactive mobile applications, 'City Guide' and 'TV Guide', in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

This service will be extended to 50 cities in the coming months.

The services, available on Reliance IndiaMobile phones, provide consumers with access to real-time information on things like essential services, entertainment options, television programmes, routes to nearest petrol pumps, railway reservation details and ATM machine locations, et cetera.

The service, apart from the metros, is also available in Bangalore and Hyderabad and would be extended to another four cities in the next two weeks, it said.

Under the 'City Guide' programme, users are provided access to ATM locations of about 25 banks, flight timings, contact details of airline offices, airports, railway stations, cinema theatres and movie timings among others, it said.

Information on essential services like blood banks, chemists, hospitals, petrol pumps and police stations are also provided, it said.

In the 'TV Guide' programme, users can surf on handsets for TV schedules of over 37 TV channels currently. A real-time news time is also provided along with it, the release added.
