Indian firms sign Rs 3,000 cr Iraq contracts

May 07, 2003 19:37 IST

Indian companies have signed contracts worth Rs 3,000 crore (Rs 30 billion) in Iraq.

The government has been facilitating these contracts with the help of the Permanent Mission of India in New York.

The PMI had been facilitating the execution of contracts earlier entered into through the Office of the Iraq Programme with the Indian exporters, an official release said in New Delhi on Wednesday.

There was a potential to further tap the contracts worth Rs 2,000 crore (Rs 20 billion) in Iraq, it said.
