Tatas on the prowl, eye broadband firm

March 04, 2004 17:51 IST

In a bid to tap the potential of the broadband market, the Tata Group is looking at a broadband company for a possible acquisition and the deal is likely to be concluded in a month or two.

"Tata Group is looking at a broadband company, which has 30,000 broadband customers and 1,50,000 ISP customers. There is no reason why it should not happen in a month or two," a Tata official said.

The official said that the due-diligence was currently underway.

"It is a good company and there will be a technical, financial and legal due-diligence," the official said, and added: "I cannot say at this point whether it will be a company purchase or an asset purchase or any other model."

Sub: Looking forward to DSL-Tata.

Instead of DSL-Dishnet ! Hope Tatas reduce the fees to a level that can be affordable even by a mochi. Mind you by no time, ...
