Twinkle bags Akshay
Now, you might want to know what happened to the Akshay-Twinkle-Shilpa fight?
We all know that Shilpa had gone to town about Akshay, leaking stories about their fight and how he two, sorry, three-timed her.
Akki, on his part, is strongly entrenched in the Khanna household.
Twinkle's neighbours insist that his Pajero is still parked outside Vaastu whenever he is free.
Where does that leave Shilpa? With a smattering of films. The actress has signed one film opposite Salman and
has bagged Sunny Deol's home production as well.
Madhuri's got her priorities right!
Marriage no bar, Madhuri Dixit has given a terrific performance in
Rajkumar Santoshi's Lajja.
That's just peachy. Except that the other leading ladies of the film -- Manisha, Mahima, Ash and Rekha -- are highly, shall we say, insecure.
But then, you gotta hand it to Madame Re. Cleverly preempting any talk, she has praised La Dixit to the skies.
We choose to ignore the fact that Madhuri's denials about quitting films and her statements like, "I am available for good meaningful roles" are fuel to rumours of her marriage already on the rocks. So what if Madhuri is spending more time in India than with her husband?
However, producer KC Bokadia paints a different picture.
Apparently, he had planned out the shooting schedule of his film in the US, since Shah Rukh Khan had agreed to shoot the songs when he was touring the country.
But when Shah Rukh changed the venue and decided to call the unit to Vancouver, Madhuri put her foot down and refused.
Why? Because she wanted to shoot in LA, which was closer home. And staying away from home was not ageeable with her.
Now, who said her marriage was on the rocks?
Juhi: not a teenybopper anymore!
Hers is truly the right decision.
Juhi Chawla knows fully well that her days as heroine are over.
This was revealed to us by a famous filmmaker who approached her with an interesting script.
Midway between the narration, Juhi stopped the conversation. Might we add, at this juncture, that this is a man whom a lot of the heroines would give their right hand to work with? Juhi said that she was past the age to play teenybopper roles. Thus, further endearing herself to the man with her honesty.
Yes, we have heard rumours that Juhi is pregnant. Which explains why Juhi, during a tour abroad, gave ample hints of her plans. She said that these would probably be her last series of shows, and that whatever fame she earned was all thanks to the love and affection of her fans.
With that, she burst into Aye mere humsafar while a montage of clips from her films flashed across the screen in rapid succession. Juhi, we think, will not only endear herself to her fans with this, but will make a great comeback after her delivery, just the way she plans.
Saif doesn't mind being second fiddle!
Either Amrita Singh has quit being Saif Ali Khan's secretary or Saif has resigned himself to the fact that he doesn't sell as a hero. Whatever the reason, the guy has started signing films randomly. So, most of the films that Saif is doing has him
playing second fiddle.
The actor is said to have even thrown off his Nawabi status, approached Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and expressed his desire
to do the role that Govinda refused in Devdas (the role that was essayed by the late Motilal in the original).
Saif is poised to play the role only if Bhansali abstains from playing games -- because the director has been
negotiating with Jackie Shroff, too.
Jackie's connections with Bhansali, we all know, date back to the time Sanjay was an assistant with Vinod Chopra during the making of 1942, A Love Story.
'I wanna be hero!'
It is one matter that Mukul Dev believes that he can make it as a hero.
It is quite another that elder brother Rahul Dev feels the same!
He apparently called up Rahul Rawail, expressing his desire to play the lead opposite Kajol in Rawail's Kuch Khhati Kuch Meethi.
Rawail, while recovering from the shock, made it clear that there was no negative role
in the film and that he was looking for a hero.
Now, Rahul Dev, after being signed for Shah Rukh Khan's home production, Ashoka The Great, is bragging about being the third angle of the triangle in the film.
Wonder what Shah Rukh will have to say when he gets wind of this.
A good role for Rinke
Rinke Khanna is excited.
The actress has signed up for Vashu Bhagnani's Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, in spite of the fact that she is playing sister to Tushar Kapoor.
Her logic is very clear: "If I am good, I will get work irrespective of the roles I play. What is important is for a character to be portrayed well."
