John Matthew Mathan is angry.
The successful ad filmmaker, who gave Aamir Khan's career a boost with Sarfarosh, is running around in circles trying to get in touch with the actor.
Mathan has readied a script and wants to meet the Khan, who isn't in the mood to start a new film just yet. Aamir, who is basking in the glory of Lagaan, is busy promoting the film at various festivals.
But Mathan need not feel demoralised.
Mansoor Khan’s film, which is to be produced by AB Corp, is also delayed for the same reason. Mansoor's in queue too, waiting for cousin Aamir to give his script a patient hearing.
Dimple to turn producer?
Sources close to the Kapadia family insist Dimple is all set to turn producer.
Though she has been toying with the idea for ages, it was son-in-law Akshay Kumar who has finally convinced her to go ahead.
There is a catch, though.
After Dillagi's debacle, Sunny Deol is not too keen about his lady love taking on this additional responsibility. Once bitten, twice shy, we guess.
Kher's 'noble' cause
How does Anupam Kher spend his spare time?
Well, he has been known to visit the Dilkhush School for underprivileged children. He will also build a school at Karjat for orphans with the money that friend Anil Kapoor won on Kaun Banega Crorepati.
All was well, until a well-meaning lady asked Kher, "You are working so hard and doing such a great job. But what is your contribution, besides sitting next to Anil and getting him to donate the prize money. Why not dig into your own pockets?"
Dutta's dedicated team
Refugee director JP Dutta is all set to launch his next film, a war epic based on the Kargil conflict. And he has already signed on seven leading actors.
Believe it or not, none of the heroes know the roles they have been assigned. Nor have they discussed renumeration with the filmmaker.
That's hard to believe, considering the chosen seven include Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt.
Now we know why Shah Rukh Khan, who's expressed his desire to work with JP, walked out when he heard the terms and conditions.
Zulfi's truant ways
Model Zulfi Sayyed is already said to be playing truant with his dates.
His producers complain that Zulfi, whose modelling dates invariably clash with his shooting ones, always favours the former.
His constant refrain is that, unlike the filmi folks, the modelling world is more organised. And, since this is where he gets his bread-and-butter, he cannot afford to play with their schedules.
But what about the millions of the film folks that are on stake, Zulfi?
