Lawyers burn father, son alive

April 08, 2003 21:57 IST

In a gruesome incident, lawyers on Monday torched alive a father and a son within the collectorate compound, after the duo had allegedly fired at one of their colleagues, Principal Secretary (Home) Pradeep Kumar said.

The deceased have been identified as Anirudh Sharma and Purushattom Sharma, he said on Tuesday.

The two had fired at R Killan, their landlord and lawyer, at his chamber in the court, Kumar said.

In retaliation, the angry lawyers captured the two and locked them in a room before setting them on fire at the court premises on Monday, he added.

The two succumbed to their injuries by the time police reached the spot, Kumar said.

Ownership of the house was said to be the cause of enmity between Sharma and Killan, he said.
