Pak visit: Laloo moves SC for passport

August 05, 2003 14:14 IST

Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav has moved the Supreme Court seeking release of his passport to enable him undertake a visit to Pakistan.

Laloo's passport was impounded before he was granted bail in some fodder scam cases.

Yadav is part of a delegation of Parliamentarians and journalists scheduled to visit Pakistan from August 9 to 11.

A Ranchi court on August 2 had refused to release Laloo's passport saying it was impounded on the orders of the Supreme Court and it would be released only if the SC so ordered.
