Shiv Sena-BJP takes out silent rally

August 27, 2003 12:39 IST

The Shiv Sena-BJP on Wednesday staged a silent rally in memory of the victims of the two blasts that rocked Mumbai on Monday killing 52 people and injuring over 100.

Carrying saffron flags and placards condemning the Democratic Front government for its alleged failure in maintaining law and order in the state, party workers marched from the Gateway of India to Mantralaya (state secretariat).

They had tied black ribbons tied around their mouth.

Shiv Sena's executive president Uddhav Thackeray and state BJP president Gopinath Munde led the rally.
