PM on holiday after birthday

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will leave for Rajasthan on a four-day holiday after celebrating his birthday. He turns 79 on December 25.

On Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party MPs conveyed their best wishes to him at the parliamentary party meeting in Delhi, on the concluding day of the winter session of Parliament. [Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die after a 22-day long session]

Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani garlanded him and offered sweets to Vajpayee who received a standing ovation from those present.

The prime minister will be leaving for Lucknow on Wednesday morning on a day's visit. He will leave for Rajasthan after spending his birthday in Delhi.
