W Bengal governor's ADC suspended

February 15, 2003 13:54 IST

Anirban Roy, the aide-de-camp of West Bengal Governor Viren J Shah, who raised allegations of corruption in the Raj Bhavan, has been suspended, official sources said on Saturday.

The order of suspension was issued on Friday, State Home Secretary Amit Kiran Deb said.

The government will frame a charge sheet against Roy, 'which should be ready by one month', Deb said adding the next course of action would be decided on the basis of his reply to it.

Roy made the allegations at a press meet on Thursday, which were rejected as 'baseless' by Joint Secretary to the Governor D K Gautam.

Later, Chief Secretary Sourin Roy had said the ADC had violated service rules and 'appropriate' action would be taken against him.
