Six Congress MLAs in UP to join Mayawati

The 23-member Congress legislature party in Uttar Pradesh appeared heading for a split on Tuesday with six of its members meeting Speaker Kesri Nath Tripathi and expressing confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Mayawati. One of the Congress members said in Lucknow that two more legislators would join the group. Those who met the speaker were K Upadhyay, Shyam Narain Tewari, Kasim Ali, Virender Singh Bundela, Vinod Kumar Singh and Dinesh Singh.
