India on Wednesday test-fired, for the fourth day in a row, the short range surface-to-air 'Trishul' missile from Integrated test range of Chandipur, 15km from Balasore in Orissa.

The Wednesday trial was intended to gauge the accuracy and the ability of the missile in different parameter. This missle was earlier sucessfully tested on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, ITR sources told rediff.com

They also said the missile, which has a range of 9 km and can carry a 15 kg warhead, was test-fired from a mobile launcher at 1345 IST.

The missile was three meters in length and 200 cm in diameter that flew at supersonic speed from a mobile launcher.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation has developed the Trishul under its integrated guided missile development programme.

The first missile was test-fired from the same test range in 1983.
