Heavy shelling by Pak troops in Kargil, Drass

May 14, 2003 13:15 IST

Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling in Kargil and Drass sub sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on Wednesday.

The shelling forced residents to take refuge in bunkers, they added.

The sources said the shelling, which started in the morning, was continuing till last reports came in at 1145 IST.

There were no reports of any loss of life. Indian troops also retaliated and it was not immediately known whether the Pakistani troops suffered any casualties, they added.
