Court releases Dawood aide on bail

An alleged Dawood Ibrahim aide, deported from Dubai recently, was released on bail on Thursday after the Mumbai police failed to file charges against him within the stipulated three months from his arrest.

Riyaz Ahmed Siddiqui, accused in a double-murder case, was granted bail by Magistrate R D Ghate after he agreed to desposit a surety of Rs 25,000 in cash with the court.

Siddiqui is an accused in November 4, 1996 murder of Noorul Haq Ansari and his son Nasrool Ansari in suburban Bandra in Mumbai.
