United States President George W Bush has proposed $200 million for debt reduction to Pakistan as part of the $87 billion war budget for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bush has also proposed $1.4 billion to 'reimburse Pakistan, Jordan and other key cooperating nations' for logistical and military support they provide in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Such support," according to budget documents released by Congress, "includes transportation into the theatre, providing supplies to coalition forces in the theatre, and helping coalition forces with communication support."

Bush pledged to Pakistan $3 billion in aid and debt write offs after 9/11. In June Bush promised another $3 billion package.

There is speculation in the media that when Bush meets Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in New York, he will ask for 10,000 Pakistani troops for Iraq.

Musharraf said when Bush first broached the subject at Camp David in June, one of the conditions for any deployment of Pakistani troops was financing.
