Chhota Rajan in Indonesian custody?

Our Correspondent | August 20, 2004 03:16 IST

Notorious Mumbai gangster Rajendra Nikalje alias Chhota Rajan has been arrested on an island in Indonesia, a source in Mumbai revealed late tonight.

The source said Rajan, who was travelling under a fictitious name with a fake passport, was arrested on Tuesday, August 17, for possessing counterfeit currency.

The local police did not, of course, know that the man they had arrested was Chhota Rajan, but the source insisted it was him.

Another man, whose name was given as Michael Fernando and who possessed a Singapore passport, was also arrested with Rajan.
