Banks not lending to politicians: BJP MP
December 17, 2004 19:45 IST
A Bharatiya Janata Party member in the Lok Sabha on Friday complained that certain multinational, and even Indian, banks were refusing to give loans to politicians and their relatives. Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, Ratilal Verma said the stand taken by such banks is an 'insult' to politicians and wanted a direction from Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to the government. "It is a serious matter," Chatterjee remarked.
