I will continue to fight for temple: Uma

December 21, 2004 16:03 IST

Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti on Tuesday said she would remain committed to the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

She said the temple for her is a matter of personal conviction.

"I am a sanyasin who entered public life on the issue of Ram and roti. I will continue to fight for these causes even though I have been suspended from the BJP," she said in Allahabad.

She, however, said she has no plans to form a party.

Asked if she felt the BJP should take her back, Bharti said, "I have written to Advaniji expressing regret for whatever has happened. Now it is for him to decide."
