Manmohan, Gandhi to visit Thailand

In their first foreign visit since the United Progressive Alliance government came to power, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be visiting Thailand separately in the next three weeks to attend international conferences.

Gandhi would take off first to attend the World HIV Conference in Bangkok on Sunday next while Singh would attend the BIMSTEC (Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand Economic Cooperation) conference, Thai Minister for Science and Technology Korn Thattaransy announced on Friday at a dinner hosted by former president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Board of Control for Cricket in India A C Muthaiah.
