A starlet on Thursday accused Chandni Bar director, Madhur Bhandarkar, of rape and intimidation.

The girl, who has acted in two Bhandarkar movies, filed a complaint with the Versova police in north-west Mumbai, DCP Bipin Kumar said. "We are investigating the charges," Kumar said.

In her FIR, the girl said she had a relationship with Bhandarkar since 2000. She alleged that he had promised her lead roles in his movies, but nothing materialised.

When she complained to him, he began beating and threatened her family, the FIR said.
