Students of a primary school in Chhattisgarh's Mahasamund district were served mid-day meals mixed with bhang and liquor, apparently to make the food tastier.

A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident after some parents on July 24 complained at a camp in village Bichhia that liquor was mixed in meals in a school at Chandibhona village, Collector Manish Kumar Tyagi told PTI on Tuesday.

"It was found that liquor was added to rice and bhang to dal to make it taste good," Tyagi said.

Sub-divisional Magistrate, Saraipalli, Ashok Shrivastava, is probing the matter. In a visit to the village on Monday, he seized ganja and other material, Tyagi said.

Tyagi said action will be taken against all those involved in the incident after Shrivastava submits his report.

Sub: liquor and bhang mixed in mid day meal.

No wonder. That state is yet to get over the hang over of being part of Bihar where anything and everything is possible.
