Maharashtra seniors get free healthcare

The Maharashtra government today announced the provision of free medical service to senior citizens from the state in all government-run hospitals.

 'All senior citizens from the state, who are 60 years old and above, will be provided free medical service in state-run medical hospitals,' an official statement said in Mumbai. The decision will come into effect immediately, the statement added, and that the state government considered this proposal as part of the national policy on senior citizens and social justice.
