A 30-year old woman was arrested by the airport police in Kolkata Sunday night after she was sent back by immigration authorities at New York airport allegedly for using the passport of another person.

After being sent back, Pushpa Jitu Patel landed at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata Sunday night and she was arrested after interrogation and investigation.

Airport sources said Patel had left India for New York on December 26 with a passport belonging to another woman Debiba Tushar Desai.

The photo on Desai's passport bore similarities with Patel, the sources said.

Desai, however, had reported earlier that her passport was missing and the New York airport authorities had that information.

So, they had no difficulty in sending Patel back. Pushpa claimed she had gone to New York in search of her husband who was living with another woman there.
