American First Lady Laura Bush visited Jeevan Jyoti -- an insitute run by Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charities -- in Delhi after her trip to the sets of the Indian version of Sesame Street and the home for juvenile justice, Prayas on Thursday.

The sisters were told of the visit a week before. But they were not divulging any information before the visit.

"Please ask the US embassy about anything you want to know," Sister Teresa Paul had said Thursday. 

On Friday morning, the sister told rediff.com that the First Lady arrived at 4 pm and spent around 45 minutes in the home for physically and mentally handicapped children that was established 20 years ago.

"The children garlanded her and sang two songs -- one in Hindi and one in English. She spoke to them and said that she will come again but we know it will be difficult for her to visit us again," Sister Paul added.

The sisters did not make any special preparations for the visit: "We don't make any extra arrangements for any of our guests."

Laura Bush complimented the sisters on their work for the children and made an entry in the visitor's book.

The sisters did not give the First Lady any memento. "We don't give anything to our guests. Those who give us a donation, we give them a receipt," said Sister Paul.

She also said that Laura Bush did not make a donation.
