Senior diplomats from India and China will sit across a table at a posh hotel in Coonoor, about 70 kms from Coimbatore, on April 21 or 22, to discuss and sort out the contentious border issues between the two countries.
According to district administration sources, the diplomats are expected to fly in from Delhi by helicopter on the evening of April 21 to Coonoor, in the Nilgiris district.
Though there was no specific information about the time and date of the talks between the special representatives of these countries, one round of talks was likely to be held either on the night of April 21 night or the next day, the sources said.
The Chinese delegation would be headed by its Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo, while there was no information on who would be the Indian special representative.
The delegation would also visit the famous botanical gardens in Udhagamandalam (Ooty), about 17 kms from Coonoor.
Meanwhile, strict instructions were sent to the Nilgiris district and police officials not to allow print and electronic media at the venue. Even the state government photographers would not be allowed, the sources said.
Security would be tightened in and around the hotel from Friday, police sources said.
