Anil V Salgaocar, managing director of Salgaocar Mining Industries Private Limited and who is footing the bill of the Bharatiya Janata Party and alliance legislators who are currently camping in New Delhi, has said the Goa [Images] Democratic Alliance will follow Maharashtravadi Gomantrak Party and file a petition in the Supreme Court against the conduct of Pratapsingh Rane, speaker of Goa legislative assembly.

Earlier, a petition was filed by Sudin Dhavlikar and Dipak Dhavlikar, both of MGP, in the apex court where they had contended that the action of speaker in disqualifying them was unconstitutional, considering the fact the order was ex-party and they were not allowed to explain themselves.

"Not even a show cause notice was issued to us," they told rediff.com at they Hotel Meridien where they along with other MLAs are staying.

Rajiv Pratap Rudy said they had sought an appointment with President Pratibha Patil [Images], which is likely to materialise on Thursday. "We have also sought a meeting with Home Minister Shivraj Patil," he said.

He distributed copies of a letter written by Governor S C Jamir, which indicated the first item taken up on July 30, 2007, by Chief Minister Digamber Kamat.

"Instead of taking up the no confidence motion, the speaker disqualified two MLAs and thereby altering the whole constitution of the House. We mentioned this before Supreme Court Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and he said that the matter should be listed and taken up on Monday," Rudy said.

Later in the evening MLAs were taken to see Lal Kishenchand Advani and Venkaiah Naidu to chalk out further strategy.
