Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived at the NSC Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Monday from Manila on way to Assam, where nearly 70 migrant workers were mowed down by United Liberation Front of Asom rebels earlier this month.

He was received by Governor G K Gandhi and Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya at the airport. The prime minister will spend the night at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata before leaving for Assam on Tuesday morning, official sources said.
