"I met Governor Jamir along with leaders of all the constituent political parties who have agreed to lend their support to the BJP to form a new government in the state. But the congress is playing games and is trying to subvert the political process in the state," he claimed.

According to him the speaker of the state assembly despite having given an appointment to Mrs Fernandes decided to do disappearing act. "He was not traceable and would not simply take her resignation. But we are not dependent on her vote in the assembly or her disqualification. The outgoing government had to pass vote on account from August 1st onwards but by creating ruckus against their own chief minister they forced the speaker to adjourn the house till Monday so that they could get enough time to sort out things in their favour.

We have asked governor Jamir to direct the speaker of the house to convene meeting on Monday and ensure that the proceedings are not disrupted under article 175," Parrikar said.

Congress party rejected the claim of the BJP that it was trying to impose president's rule but admitted that there were problems in Goa.

"This kind of situation arises anywhere. The situation developed in last 24 hours and the matter would be sorted out either by weekend. Then there are other options which are open," Abhishek Manu Singhvi said in response to a question as to how did the party read the situation in Goa. He ruled out any change in the state leadership as a temporary measure.

Mrs Margret Alva, incharge of Goa, is being rushed to the state along with other senior leaders to use the opportunity of Saturday and Sunday in bring the dissident congress MLAs back into the party fold.

Parrikar is firm that if the house is allowed to function normally they would not hesitate to being down government headed by a former BJP man Digambar Kamath.
