A Shiv Sena corporator of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai was allegedly shot dead by four unidentified persons at his residence on Friday, a senior police official said.

Kamlakar Jamsandikar, who represented the Mohili Village-Ghatkopar Asalpha ward in the Corporation, was shot at point blank range by four persons at Mohili village near Saki Naka on Friday evening, Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Bipin Bihari told PTI.

The reason for the killing was not yet known, he said.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot to supervise the investigation. "He (Jamsandikar) was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital after the firing," Bihari said.
