West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee on Tuesday refused comment on the Calcutta High Court order for a Central Bureau of Investigation into the death of Rizwanur Rehman who had married the daughter of a Hindu industrialist.

''I have come here in connection with the foundation laying of a steel plant and I won't comment,'' said the chief minister when reporters sought his reaction.

The high court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to investigate the death of Rizwanur Rehman, the computer graphic artist, whose body was found near on rail tracks on September 21, after he married Priyanka against the wishes of her industrialist father Ashok Todi on August 18.

Faced with public outcry against the alleged involvement of two deputy commissioners of the Kolkata police in pressuring Rizwanur to part with Priyanka, the chief minister had ordered a CID probe on September 24 and later a judicial inquiry. He had also visited Rizwanur's family last Saturday.
