Aligarh Muslim University on Monday closed sine die following student violence after the killing of an death of an engineering student.

Hundreds of students of the Aligarh Muslim University went on a rampage at the university campus.

The angry students ransacked the teachers' staff room and even set the vice-chancellor's residence on fire.

The police said Vice-Chancellor P K Abdul Aziz was not present at his residence at the time of the incident.
