E-mail threat traced to Navi Mumbai residence

Police on Sunday raided a Navi Mumbai flat and seized a computer in connection with the e-mail sent to television channels threatening more blasts across the country.

The apartment located in the Palm Beach Road area of Sanapada in Navi Mumbai was raided by the Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Mumbai police.

"We have raided the house in Gunia buildings and further investigations are presently on. We are verifying the personal details of the individual living there," a senior officer with the ATS told PTI.

A computer has been seized from the apartment and its contents are being verified, officers said.

Sixteen serial blasts rocked Ahmedabad on Saturday evening, claiming 38 lives and injuring 100 others. The synchronised low intensity blasts took place a day after similar explosions rocked Bengaluru.
