India take 1-0 lead in Davis Cup

India took a 1-0 lead over New Zealand in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group-1 second round tie when Leander Paes defeated Mark Nielsen at the South Club lawns in Kolkata on Friday.

Paes prevailed over Nielsen 6-1, 7-6, 6-2.
