India spikers in World jr semis

India thrashed Puerto Rico in straight games 25-17, 25-14, 25-11 to advance to the semi-finals in the boys' under-19 World Junior volleyball championship in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday.

The Indian juniors, who caused a sensation by upsetting defending champions Brazil in the preliminary round, will take on Iran, who beat Thailand 25-16, 25-22, 25-19 in tomorrow's semi-final.

In the other semi-final, Brazil will take on the Czech Republic

 Brazil beat Russia in five games 25-22, 17-25, 25-19, 20-25, 17-15 while Czech Republic beat Australia 20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19.
