India second in Commonwealth boxing

India won six medals, including two gold, to finish a creditable second in the Commonwealth Amateur Boxing Championships, which concluded in Kuala Lumpur n Monday.

Arjuna Awardee Mohd Ali Qamar and Jitender Kumar were India's golden boys, winning the title in the Light-fly and Light-heavyweight categories respectively.

India missed a third gold when Ramanand went down in the light-weight final.

The three bronze medal winners were Akhil Kumar (flyweight), Diwakar Prasad (bantamweight) and V Johnson (heavyweight).
