India's Shikha Uberoi crashed out of the Wismilak International women's tennis tournament, losing to qualifier Andreja Klepac of Slovenia in the first round.

The 23-year-old United States-based Indian started well, winning the first set on a tie-breaker 7-5, but could not maintain her momentum and went down in the next two sets.

The 194th-ranked Shikha lost 6-7 (7/5), 6-1, 6-3.

The Slovenian next faces Olga Poutchkova of Russia [Images], who upset fourth seeded Ana Ivanovic 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
