Top Iraqi scientist surrenders: Report

The head of Iraq's nuclear programme, Jafar al-Jafar, has surrendered to a foreign government, the NBC television network quoted American officials as saying on Sunday. 

It said US officials have access to him. 

Jafar headed Iraq's nuclear programme for nearly two decades and could provide useful information, the network said.
