12 killed as US helicopter crashes

March 21, 2003 15:47 IST

A US helicopter on Friday crashed in Kuwait, killing four American and eight British soldiers onboard, military officials said.

The copter was ferrying troops when it crashed inside Kuwait, near the border with Iraq. However, enemy fire is not suspected to be the reason for the crash.

This is the first casualty that US and British troops have suffered in their war against Iraq.
