Three Indians to figure in County cricket
April 13, 2003 15:17 IST
Three top-notch Indian cricketers will represent various teams in the Frizzell County cricket championship, which commences on Friday.
Dashing opening batsman Virender Sehwag will play for Leicestershire while off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will represent Lancashire.
Medium pacer Javagal Srinath will play for Durham. He will also assist the team as a bowling coach.
Srinath, who played for Leicestershire last season, will join the team on April 21.
Sehwag and Harbhajan, currently playing in the one-day tri-series in Dhaka, will also arrive in London around the same time as Srinath, as the Bangladesh tournament is slated to finish on April 20.
The 33-year-old Srinath had opted out of the Dhaka tourney, saying he needs rest after a demanding World Cup, where India staged a remarkable comeback to finish runners-up, behind Australia.
