Bhupathi-Mirnyi in doubles final

July 04, 2003 19:31 IST

Top seeds Mahesh Bhupathi of India and Max Mirnyi of Belarus entered the final of the men's doubles at Wimbledon, beating the fifth seeded pair of Leander Paes of India and David Rikl of the Czech Republic 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 in the semi-finals on Friday.

The victory enabled Bhupathi and Mirnyi avenge the defeat they suffered against the Indo-Czech pair in the quarter-finals of the French Open.

Bhupathi and Miryni will meet Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman and Todd Woodbridge of Australia in the final.

The fourth seeds got the better of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram of Israel 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the other semi-final.
